Review: Enchanted is a sweet little novella in a world set in Larsen's "The Academy" series. I have not read the other books in the series and technically this can be read as a stand alone, however I feel like I was missing out on a little bit of the world building. Roberta's story opens up with her being in the woods, with some explanation of the land and the characters in the story. You find out more about her family, the Academy, and the wolf warriors in her life. Being eccentric, I found her being relatable, growing up with her own mind, making her feel different from everyone around her.
Nate, the Academy's headmaster's song, is Roberta's mate. To be totally transparent, I absolutely hated him. The way he made Roberta feel was not ok. While they had a sweet romance, the way he lead her on and allowed her to go through all that alone was a no-go for me. I wanted to throat punch him and tell him how stupid he was acting. The story itself was a really good novella and had a content ending, which I appreciated how respectable things wrapped up.
