Review: My oh my... this book took a tap dance on my heart. Get ready for a roller coaster of emotions, anxiety, and drama. I rarely cry and this book had me sobbing at 2 AM and even dreaming about the storyline. It took me a week to get over this and I STILL haven't been able to pick up another book.
I personally did not feel relatable to Corinne or Vance, which I usually choose books where I have some semblance of connection to the main characters, at the beginning of the book. But as the plot thickened, the back story unfurled and bits of drama were unleashed, I became emotionally chained to them. I felt everything, and I mean everything.
Glass Hearts is a great book if you want to feel emotions again. For those of you who have been numb to good and bad feelings, this will help you feel both. If you've never experienced an abusive relationship and want to feel PTSD, this is it. If you've never been the "weak" family member, you can live through Corinne's anxiety. If you've never found a love who fights against himself to love you back and your heart shatters every other page... read this book. Alternatively, if you want to feel what it's like to have a family that loves and supports you, Corinne's family is a wonderful example. If you want to feel what it's like for shattered hearts to begin to mend, fight for each other, and accept their bitter pasts, this is the book for you.
On another note, if you get triggered by suicide, death of a family member, traumatic sexual encounters, abduction, etc, be warned. I feel like this book can be healing to witness Corinne & Vance's healing but you will also feel a lot and that may be hurtful.
